I think it’s funny that I’ve had a job for just over two years. And somehow I have (technical) seniority. Everyone on the list has been crossed out I’m the only one left

Manager transferred departments, then the new one planned to change and was training a new person. That girl quit so our manager stayed but eventually transferred departments. We had a new manager but then never even showed up. Cute guy changed departments. Chapstick quit without a word. The other day I learned banana man is quitting. Blondie was there for like a year before she quit. Ginger was only here for like two weeks, transferred then quit. Bitch girl was here for like a month and quit. Emt was here for a good while but cut her hours and quit this summer too. College guy quit ages ago.

I say technical seniority because babygirl manager’s wife also worked here but took like a year off then was rehired this summer. She’s nice

My baby daughter got her adorable puffin-print dress absolutely CAKED in mud crawling around the yard and my first thought was "oh no her beautiful dress"

And my second thought was "oh huh it really WOULD be easy to unconsciously steer her away from playing in the dirt. Unlike my son, whose outfits are usually some kind of solid dark easily washed pants plus a shirt that doesn't trail in the dirt like a dress does."

Ok I’m being so brave about it but a couple of days ago I saw this post claiming that the Jedi saying ‘this weapon [your lightsaber] is your life’ is emblematic of ‘the Jedi’s failure as peacekeepers’ (not an exact quote but pretty close) because why would a weapon be the life of a peacekeeper?

And like. The Jedi are a culture. They’re a religion.

You know that, right? You know that many cultures, including generally peaceful ones, have sacred weapons, right? You know that the bond between a Jedi and their crystal(s) is an extremely sacred thing that requires the consent of both parties and is integral to their way of life, right?

You know that lightsabers are not intended to be only for killing, right? That the first thing Luke learns to do with his lightsaber is to shield and defend? You know that a culture having sacred weapons doesn’t mean that they view killing as sacred, right?
